Employee Assessment, Counseling and Referral
The primary service to employees and their family members, under the EAP, is the provision of in-person interviews at no cost to them. Employees may call for an appointment on their own or at the suggestion of their supervisor, co-worker or family member. In some instances, a supervisor, due to a serious job performance problem, may refer the employee.
The first counseling session is an assessment. At the end of the session, the counselor will tell the employee the treatment recommendation. If the counselor believes that the problem can be resolved in the remaining two sessions, he will schedule the employee to return. If the counselor believes that the problem will need more than the remaining two sessions, he will assist the employee in getting treatment from other resources, frequently the employee’s medical insurance. |
